What is [fleXive]?
[fleXive] is a Java EE 5 open source (LGPL 2.1) framework for the development of complex and evolving (web) applications. It speeds up development by eliminating many tedious and repetitive programming tasks and helping to keep your application(s) flexible during the development cycle and in production.
[fleXive] is based on the latest industry standards, including EJB 3, JSF, etc.
UCS - unique computing solutions gmbh and [fleXive]...
[fleXive] started out as a closed source project developed by UCS - unique computing solutions gmbh in 1999. Its aim was to provide a sophisticated J2EE framework to allow for the rapid development of web-based applications like CMS systems, while automatically ensuring high standards of security and flexibility (hence its name) in a way that was not available at the time. This eventually led to the release of [fleXive] 2.0 in 2003, the last official release of [fleXive] up to this point, followed by numerous [fleXive]-based development projects.
In 2005, the decision to create a new [fleXive] using state-of-the-art architecture and technologies was made. This time, however, [fleXive] would be an open-source project, sponsored and developed by UCS in its early stages. The reasoning behind this decision was that the resources already invested in the project and the resulting benefits - both in terms of functionality and technology - should not be lost. Instead, the framework should be given to the wider community to enable as many people as possible to benefit from its advantages.
In December 2007 [fleXive] was released as an open source project licensed under LGPL 2.1 (or greater). For more information, please visit www.flexive.org
UCS - unique computing solutions gmbh is currently [fleXive]’s main sponsor and is responsible for providing the majority of the development team. In fact, we currently have a dedicated team of staff members who are actively developing the core framework.
Our fundamental knowledge of the [fleXive] framework enables us to offer a range of related services. We can assist you:
- In cases where there is a need for a specific feature for the implementation of a [fleXive]-based project – and it must be available within a given timeframe to meet a particular deadline.
- In critical situations or when a specific SLA needs to be guaranteed for projects, or in cases where there is a need for a level of support which exceeds the possibilities offered by the open source community.
- For the development of complete projects, please send us a request containing a brief explanation of your requirements.
